Roof scaffolding
Roof scaffolding — Lancashire & the North West
Whether it's a single chimney repair or a full re-roof, we provide safe, CISRS-certified roof scaffolding with proper edge protection, ladder access and working platforms at every lift.
Overview
Roof work is the most common reason homeowners and builders call us — and the area where bad scaffold causes the most accidents. We've spent over a decade specialising in roof access scaffold, from a single gable for chimney pointing to two-elevation scaffolds for full re-roofs and solar installations.
Every roof scaffold we put up includes proper edge protection (handrails at 950mm, mid-rails, toe boards), boarded working platforms at the eaves, and inspected access ladders. Temporary roof scaffold — covered shrink-wrap systems for weather protection during major works — is also part of our offering for larger jobs.

FAQs
Common questions
What is roof scaffolding?
Roof scaffolding combines a standard working platform with edge protection (guard rails, toe boards, brick guards) along the roof perimeter. It lets roofers work safely on sloping or flat roofs without harness-only systems.
Do I need scaffolding for a re-roof?
Yes, in almost every case. Stripping and re-laying slates or tiles is high-risk work — the Work at Height Regulations require edge protection unless the roof can be safely accessed another way, which is rarely true on UK pitched roofs.
How long does it take to erect roof scaffolding?
A standard domestic roof scaffold goes up in 3–5 hours. Larger commercial roofs or temporary roof structures take longer and are quoted with a specific window.
