Overview

Hiring scaffold from us is the opposite of buying it: you make one phone call, agree a fixed price, and we handle everything physical. Design, delivery, erect, sign-tag, weekly inspection during hire, and full dismantle at the end. No tube-buying, no skip waste, no liability for what's standing on your property.

We hire to three groups: homeowners doing re-roofs / extensions / chimney work, trade customers (builders, roofers, solar installers, painters) running repeat jobs, and small commercial clients needing short-term façade access. Pricing scales with all three — one-off domestic jobs are quoted flat, trade customers get a per-job framework rate, and commercial clients get monthly hire pricing with a contracts manager.

Everything we hire out is NASC-spec galvanised tube and board, erected to TG20:21, with sign-tags renewed at every weekly inspection. If the hire runs longer than expected — which it often does on solar and re-roof jobs — there's no penalty rate, just the same weekly figure we quoted at the start.

The detail

What's included

Domestic hire

Re-roofs, extensions, chimney repairs, gutter and fascia work. Standard one-week hire, extension priced flat. Most domestic hires fall between £400 and £900 fully inclusive.

Trade hire (per-job)

Builders, roofers and painters running repeat work. Per-job framework rate, priority booking, same crew where possible. Monthly invoice if you prefer.

Solar installer hire

1–2 week solar scaffold hire with next-day mobilisation. See the dedicated solar scaffold hire page for the trade-partner programme.

Commercial hire

Short-term façade access for shops, offices and care settings. Pavement licence handling, traffic management, occupied-premises protocols all included.

Weekly inspections

Every scaffold we hire out is re-inspected weekly by a CISRS-certified scaffolder. Sign-tag refreshed, written report on request — useful for insurance or HSE compliance.

Extensions & changes

Need it up another week? Same rate. Need an extra lift or a return at the gable? We come back, modify the scaffold and re-tag it — quoted as a flat add-on, not a punitive day rate.

FAQs

Common questions

What does scaffold hire actually include?

Our hire price is fully inclusive: design and quote, delivery to site, CISRS-certified erection, sign-tagging, weekly safety inspection during the hire period, and full dismantle plus removal at the end. You don't buy or move a single tube.

How is hire priced — daily, weekly, monthly?

We quote a single fixed price covering erect, the first week of hire, and dismantle. Extensions beyond the first week are billed in 7-day increments at a fair weekly rate (typically £20–£60 per week for a domestic scaffold), with monthly framework pricing for trade customers.

What's the shortest hire period?

One week is the practical minimum because erect + dismantle takes two visits. For jobs genuinely under a week (chimney cap, gutter clear, one-day roof repair) we offer a flat 'quick-job' price that still covers both visits but assumes same-week dismantle.

What happens if the job over-runs?

No penalty extensions, ever. If the builder, roofer or solar installer over-runs, we extend at the same weekly rate we quoted at the start. We'd rather keep the customer than punish them for a delayed install.

Can I hire just the kit and erect it myself?

No — and we'd strongly advise against it. The Work at Height Regulations 2005 require scaffolds to be erected by a CISRS-certified scaffolder, and our insurance won't cover kit that we haven't put up. Our hire is always erect + hire + dismantle as a single service.
